MEET THE FUNDERS - ALBERTA
According to the UNFUNDEundation For Black Communities (FFBC)D report, a lack of relationships between Canadian philanthropy and Black-led, Black-serving, and Black-focused (B3's) non-profits and charities across the country is one of the primary factors for systemic underfunding of Black communities.
This relationship gap has serious consequences for the long-term sustainability of B3s and, as a result, the vital services and support they provide to Black communities.
To help bridge this gap, FFBC is launching “Meet the Funders” series as part of our mission to connect B3 groups with local funders. As an outcome, we want to see improved relationships between B3 groups and Canadian philanthropic funders which will lead to meaningful knowledge exchange, a better understanding of Black communities' needs and priorities, and support for Black communities.
