Alberta Culture Days - Traditional Dishes from Indigenous & Indian Culture

Hosted by the Centre for Newcomers

This event will include a cooking demonstration and tasting of traditional Indigenous recipes along with a popular dish from India. At the CFN kitchen the two dishes will be cooked and served to an audience comprised of Miskanawah Family Resource Network guests and CFN newcomer clients. The two cooks will talk about how they learned how to make the dishes and their significance in their respective cultures. By doing so, the cooks may share their cultures’ values and worldview and how this knowledge is transferred from generation to generation. The event will be video recorded in its entirety and it will become a source for future professional development for both. organizations as well as for teaching at CFN. PROOF OF VACCINATION IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND.
