Facing the horizon, the meeting point of earth and sky, we navigate new ways and explore new perspectives.
Join d.talks on April 19 for a discussion moderated by Métis architect, Tiffany Shaw Collinge, with visionary Alberta architects—Douglas Cardinal and Wanda Dalla Costa. The discussion will consider the built environment from an Indigenous perspective and is propelled by the Alberta screening of Earth to Sky—a unique and inspiring movie that tells of the accomplishments of seven Indigenous architects “driving a movement as climate change threatens the planet” (IMDb).
To register for the discussion or for the screenings (screenings are available for Alberta residents), visit http://www.dtalks.org/horizon.
Horizon is produced by d.talks and is generously supported by ATB Financial. This program is held in partnership with the Calgary Public Library and the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC).
The artwork that anchors this event was created by Kevin Cardinal and is titled Navigating a way forward, listening and learning from elders, and different world views.
