What is Social Snacking? A random connection between two people that is positive and kind, l can make a meaningful difference to our day, our sense of community, personal well-being, and general sense of good. We call these interactions “social snacking”.

Social snacking describes brief and informal positive interactions in daily events, which contribute to happiness, sense of belonging and identity, and help to build naturally supportive communities.

Why practice social snacking?

We can all be encouraged to have more delightful and pleasant experiences using public transportation. Imaginarium is about reimagining our public spaces, public transit is one of many of those spaces. We can practice changing the social dynamics through facilitating a playful way to engage other passengers through our behaviour like kindness, whimsy and softness.

Join in an experimental activation by using social artistry!

We’ll arrive together at Sunalta station! As a group we’ll learn about what we can use to social snack, some of our hesitations and what we can learn from the practice.

As we make our way down the track back to Sunalta station we’ll activate and engage with customers by social snacking, providing light ways to interact with our fellow riders.

We’ll talk about how social artistry can be used to activate public spaces!
